Music of the Baroque zählt im fünften Jahrzehnt seines Bestehens zu den führenden professionellen Ensembles Amerikas für Werke des 17. und 18. Jahrhunderts. An seiner Spitze steht seit 2002 die renommierte britische Dirigentin Dame Jane Glover, 2021 zur Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire ernannt.

Händels letztes Oratorium „Jephtha“ (1751) erzählt die alttestamentliche Geschichte des Feldherrn, der im Sieg das eigene Kind opfern soll. Glover führt eine erlesene Sängerriege – David Portillo, Lauren Snouffer, Clara Osowski, Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen und Neal Davies – durch das große Chor- und Solistenwerk auf zwei CDs.
